Blepharoplasty, the medical term for upper eyelid surgery, removes excess skin and fat from above the eye. Surgery will make your eyes look wider and give the eye area a fresher and more youthful appearance.

Sometimes hooded upper eyelids are not simply a cosmetic issue. If there is a significant amount of excess skin, it may interfere with your vision. Blepharoplasty can be used to correct this functional issue too.

Blepharoplasty – Eyelid Surgery

Blepharoplasty removes excess skin and fat from the Upper Eyelids.

During this surgical procedure, your cosmetic surgeon will remove the excess skin through an incision along the natural crease of your upper eyelid.

Any excess fat will also be removed in the same way and the loose skin and muscle trimmed before the incision is closed using tiny dissolvable stitches.

Eyelid surgery takes between one and two hours to complete.

AMAZING experience, through the entire patient journey. I went to Mr Fiore with concerns about acne scarring and some active spots. I have so far had two Morpheus 8 micro needling treatments with Mr Fiore at his recommendation and I cannot believe the difference to my skin. The marks have almost gone and I have stopped getting new spots in the areas treated. Mr Fiore also prescribed medical grade skin care which has made a huge improvement to my skin health, which I will continue to use. I am almost 2 weeks post op after having vaser lipo to Abdomen, Flanks, back and thighs and I am so happy with my results. There is still some swelling but the results are already amazing!! Mr Fiore is great. He explains what he feels are realistic results for your body shape and explains the procedure in detail, along with the required aftercare. I decided to have the MLD massage with Mr Fiore and I'm so glad I did! The massage gave me a lot of relief from fluid build up. I also felt reassured knowing that I was seeing the surgeon who performed the procedure. It also gave me the opportunity to ask lots more questions. The recovery it's self took longer than I expected, after reading reviews that some people were back to normal activities after 5 days. Personally I would recommend taking 2 weeks off work to allow for recovery. I struggled to drive until day 9/10. This could be due to having quite a large area of vaser lipo though. The whole team at Med Fiore are knowledgable, professional and approachable. I have no hesitation in recommending Mr Fiore!!

I have recently had vaser liposuction and renuvion on my chin, neck and jawline with Mr Fiore. I was very happy with how informative, honest and personable Mr Fiore was. I decided to have my manual lymphatic massages with Mr Fiore which im so glad I did. Its well worth it knowing that it was being done by the surgeon who did the procedure and i was getting the very best follow up care. His team are lovely and really make you feel comfortable. 2 months after 360 Vaser lipo I can see a huge difference in the shape of my body and an hourglass shape around my ribcage area, as well as significantly less fat on my stomach/abdomen area. Eagerly waiting for the final results as my skin is still recovering but Dr. Fiore has been helpfully guiding me through it and offering suggestions on aftercare to improve results even further 🙂

Morpheus 8 treatment with FaceTite: I had this procedure done just over 12 months ago at Med Fiore clinic. The results were incredibly good. My skin texture improved, my face was plumper and smoother with less wrinkles and my skin was tighter, it was no longer saggy around my jawline. Dr Fiore is a great surgeon who is excellent at what he does and is always at the forefront of new developments in cosmetic treatments. He ensured that I felt absolutely no pain during the treatment (something other practitioners are often not as considerate about) and that I followed his detailed aftercare programme.     You are a good candidate if you are troubled by the heavy appearance of your eyes or your vision is affected by loose skin.

    Many of our clients experience this problem because of ageing, but sometimes it is genetic. Whatever your age, blepharoplasty will improve the appearance of your eyelids.

    Your cosmetic surgeon will discuss the surgical procedure and your recovery period at your initial consultation. A full medical history will be taken to ensure that surgery is appropriate for you.

    Upper Eye Lid Surgery is perform under local anaesthetic and your surgeon will treat you as a day case.

    All patients are assessed before going home and you will leave fully equipped to care for your eye area.

    After the procedure, your eyelids will be swollen and bruised and there may be some puffiness for the first week to 10 days.

    The surgical scars will be hidden in the crease of your upper eyelid. Eventually, the scars will fade completely.

    After a month you will be fully recovered and you will be delighted with the refreshed and more youthful appearance of your face.

    Most patients recover well without any complications but there are some measures that you can take to minimise discomfort and encourage healing.

    Sleeping with your head elevated on pillows will allow gravity to reduce swelling. We also encourage our patients to apply ice compresses gently to the eye area as these will also help with puffiness.

    Try to avoid eating too much salty food as salt can cause fluid retention and increase swelling.

    It is best to avoid drinking alcohol and taking any ibuprofen-based medication in the first few days after surgery as these can make bruising worse.

    You may have sensitive, dry eyes after surgery so avoid wearing contact lenses for at least the first week. Your surgeon may be able to help by prescribing some soothing eye drops or artificial tears.

    It is usually safe to wear glasses after your blepharoplasty surgery. Many patients choose to wear sunglasses when outside. They will hide your bruises but also protect your sensitive eyes from the wind and sun which could cause your eyes to water.

    Blepharoplasty is not designed to remove wrinkles around the eyes. You can find out more about the anti-wrinkle injections that we offer here.
