VASER LIPOSUCTION
Vaser® Liposuction is a leading liposuction technique which is specifically effective at reducing fat in localised area that is not shifting easily with a healthy diet and exercise alone. This cutting-edge treatment is unique in that it can create amazing body contouring results but with less recovery and down time after the procedure.
What is Vaser Lipo?
Vaser® Liposuction also known as “Vibration amplification sound of energy at resonance” works by amplifying a naturally occurring process within our bodies. The fat cells in our bodies break down over time due to naturally occurring vibrations. Vaser® Liposuction effectively increases the number of vibrations to speed up the fat breakdown process. The way it works specifically is that it targets a specific area and the fat in that area is liquefied. It is then removed from this area with precision – meaning that only the fat cells are targeted. This results in a treatment that is far less painful than other types of liposuction. Less damage is caused to other cells, so there is ultimately less bruising and less time needed for recovery. Vaser® Liposuction works effectively on both men and women who want a clearer, more contoured shape with the least invasive procedure possible.
Less invasive than traditional liposuction
Vaser® Liposuction is a minimally invasive procedure of removing fat that can be more efficient than traditional liposuction and cuts down recovery time. VASER Lipo is one of the most popular treatments for body contouring and it is a great method for targeting specific areas of fat that are mostly stubborn to get rid of, such as your abdomen, chest, flanks, arms thighs and neck.
What areas of the body can I have Vaser Lipo?
Vaser® Liposuction can be used on all the areas of the body you would expect to want to reduce fat from – all of the common trouble areas where it can be difficult to eradicate fat purely through a healthy diet and exercise. These include:
Neck and Chin
An excess of fat on your neck, which also often results in a double chin can be really difficult to get rid of. Because Vaser Lipo can target an area with such precision, this is the ideal treatment to rectify this problem area. Vaser Lipo is definitely recommended if you want to have a more defined and improved neck, chin area and also jaw line.
Arms
Vaser® Liposuction is an excellent choice of procedure for those who either want to have more toned and more evident muscle outlines in their upper arms or also for this looking to get rid of the dreaded bingo wings. This less invasive procedure will give your arms a much more contoured but natural looking shape.
Breasts
Having VASER Lipo in this area of the body can be of beneft to both men and women.
Men very often seek treatment in this area – especially for the treatment of Gynaecomastia (‘man boobs’). This can be a suitable procedure for those needing a more minimal surgical reduction in chest size.
Some women also opt for this procedure if they require more minimal treatment than breast reduction surgery. For women, this procedure can be used for purely aesthetic reasons, for correcting any asymmetry and refining the position of the breasts, or even for reducing breast size slightly – often as a way of alleviating back pain caused by larger breasts.
Back
The back can be a trouble area for stubborn fat in a few different areas. If you have a build-up of fat on your back, the resulting rolls of fat can really change your whole outline and appearance, whether they are underneath your neck, under your shoulder blades or all the way down to your waist. Vaser® Liposuction is a great choice of procedure for any of these areas as each area can be targeted so specifically.
Abdomen
The use of Vaser® Liposuction can be highly effective for those who are starting to think about having a tummy tuck. In fact, it can often be the preferred procedure as not only is it less invasive, but it does also produce excellent results for a more sculpted looking tummy. This is also an ideal solution for women who are finding it difficult to get rid of their ‘mummy tummy’ after having children.
Love Handles
Vaser Lipo is a good choice of procedure if, like many, you are struggling to remove the stubborn fat on your waist and hips. This area is notoriously difficult to tone through diet and exercise alone so this procedure can help you to achieve a smaller waistline.
Hips and Buttocks
This problem area of the body is more of an issue as we get older, as fat tends to be stored on the buttocks and hips but unevenly. This results in a more awkward body shape. For a more sculpted shape, Vaser Lipo can target these specific areas to give a smoother outline.
Thighs
Excessive fat on your upper legs can be very uncomfortable and cause an unflattering outline. Vaser Liposuction can be applied to both the inner and outer thighs but also anterior and posterior thighs (360-degree approach) which leaves you with a better contour, more shapely legs which are more comfortable in hot weather and look and feel better in jeans and trousers.
Knees and Ankles
If you suffer from excessive fat anywhere on your lower legs, Vaser® Liposuction is a really good solution for you. By targeting the specific fat around you knees, your calves or your ankles, you will be left with a much more contoured shape resulting in a more confident you who does not have to worry about your lower legs being on show.
What is the procedure like?
Firstly, it will be pre-determined whether the procedure will take place under local anaesthetic or sedation. Once this has been administered, the surgeon will make a small incision where the Vaser® Liposuction is being applied. A small probe will be inserted. This is to safely transmit ultrasound waves, which liquefy the fat without damaging the other tissue surrounding it. It can then be safely removed resulting in a more sculpted area where you have had the treatment.
How is Vaser Lipo different from normal Liposuction?
One of the most immediate differences between Vaser® Liposuction and traditional methods of liposuction is that unlike the latter, Vaser Lipo gives you a quicker and less painful recovery time. Usually, you do not even have to stay in overnight with this procedure – you walk in and walk out on the same day.
In terms of the actual procedure itself, instead of the less invasive Vaser Lipo procedure which uses ultrasound waves via a small incision, traditional forms of liposuction are much more invasive. It works by inserting a bigger cannula in and out of small slits in the body to break down the fat so it can be removed. Vaser® Liposuction is a much more gentle and accurate procedure, which does not carry the same risk as damaging the surrounding tissue that is a possibility with traditional liposuction.
How much fat can actually be removed?
The straightforward answer to this question is that the quantity will vary from patient to patient and from area to area of your body. During your initial consultation with Mr Giuseppe Fiore, this will be considered for your own individual case and clarified for you.
What does the recovery involve?
One main benefit of Vaser® Liposuction is that usually there is no need for an overnight stay and recovery as a whole is quicker and easier. The recovery time is very much dependant on which areas, and how many areas have had the procedure. Your state of health and lifestyle will also be factors in how quickly you are able to recover after having this procedure.
Straight after having the procedure we do recommend that you rest for at least twelve hours after.
In the vast majority of cases, people generally find they are able to return to work only 2-5 days after having the procedure. For a complete recovery, between 3-14 days is the usual recovery time.
During the whole recovery time you will be required to wear compression garment around the areas where you had Vaser Liposuction. These compression garments allows your body to heal quicker, improves the skin tightening process and ultimately improve the effectiveness of the procedure. The duration of time you will need to wear these will be established by your surgeon and will be communicated before and after the procedure as part of your comprehensive pre- and post-procedure care plan.
How Does It Work:
Vaser® Liposuction works by increasing the amount of vibrations that naturally occur within the body when breaking down fat. The more vibrations, the quicker the fat can break down, resulting in a reduction in fat in the treated area.
What does the procedure involve?
The procedure itself involves either a general anaesthetic if you are having large areas of fat treated or local anaesthetic if you are having smaller areas treated. Local anaesthetic is administered by injection to the surrounding area in order to numb the treated area so that you don’t feel any pain.
Small Incisions:
The next step is a number of very small incisions, usually around 3mm, being made that will allow us to directly inject the fatty areas with fluid that is absorbed by the fat.
Probe Insertion:
Once the fluid has been absorbed by the fat the ultrasound probe can be inserted into the treatment area, this probe is moved around with ease and effectively liquifies the surrounding fat.
Fat Removal:
Once all the fat in the treated area is liquified, a small tube is inserted that will suck out the liquified fat. Once this is complete you will be given a small dissolvable stitch or leave the incisions open to allows additional fluid to be drained from your body and the procedure is complete.
Can I return home after the procedure?
You should be able to return home straight after the procedure. If you have had surgical Vaser® Liposuction with a general anaesthetic then may you will need to stay in hospital for approximately 4 hours for the recovery time.
Is it painful afterwards?
During the procedure you will not feel any pain due to the sedation or some discomfort if in local anaesthesia. After the procedure you may experience some discomfort for some days. If this is the case, we will provide you with the required pain relief to take home so that you can keep the any pain to a minimum.
How quickly will I see the results?
The length of time it takes to see the results will vary from patient to patient but in most cases, there is an immediate improvement straight after the procedure, which continues to improve over the following days and weeks. It is very much dependant on how much Vaser Liposuction you are having – how many different areas and how much fat is being removed but generally, results are more obvious as your body heals throughout the following weeks. It can continue to improve even up to three or six months after the procedure.
What is the recovery time?
When you do get home you will need to take things easy and not over-exert yourself. We will provide you with special tight compression garments that aid recovery and optimise the results of the procedure. These garments must to be worn night and day for at least 4 weeks post-surgery, however this depends on the level of Vaser® Liposuction you have had and may be needed for up to 6-8 weeks. Mr Fiore will inform you of exactly how long you will need to wear the supportive garment depending on the level of treatment you have had.
Returning to work:
You should be able to return to work and light activities after a few days. However, if you have had the treatment in many areas or a large area then we recommend that you take a week off work in order to help the recovery process. We also advise that you avoid any heavy exercise for a minimum of 4 weeks following the procedure.
How safe is Vaser Lipo?
Here at Med Fiore Aesthetic Clinic, we only promote the use of treatments and procedures that are of the highest quality and have a reputable safety record. Mr Fiore and all of our clinicians are highly trained and would only ever recommend procedures that are safe, suitable to the individual needs of the client and most likely to yield the required results.
As a procedure, Vaser Liposuction complied with all safety requirements. As it is less invasive, it is safer in nature than traditional methods of liposuction. As ultrasound technology is used to liquefy the fat, the tissue around the fat is less damaged – as can happen with traditional liposuction. So as well as having a shorter recovery time, it is also a safer procedure.
